Modern Tools,
Clearer Answers
Dr. Schick has spent nearly three decades updating and modernizing the Duncan office with technology that supports more comfortable, more precise dental care.
Every tool below is used for a practical reason: catching problems earlier, planning treatment more accurately, or making an appointment more comfortable.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays give Dr. Schick a clear, fast view of what's happening beneath the surface — between teeth, under existing fillings, and around tooth roots — while using less radiation than traditional film X-rays. They're part of most routine checkups and many treatment evaluations.
Digital Scanning
For crowns, bridges, and denture fittings, we use a digital scan instead of traditional impression material. It's faster, less messy, and many patients find it considerably more comfortable than biting into a tray of impression putty.
Bite Analysis
Bite analysis helps identify forces on your teeth and jaw that can contribute to worn teeth, jaw discomfort, or worsening gum recession, so we can recommend adjustments or a mouthguard before those issues progress.
3D Imaging for Treatment Planning
For procedures like bone grafting and implant restorations, Dr. Schick uses advanced 3D imaging to evaluate bone density and structure before recommending a plan — so you know what to expect before treatment begins, not after.
6-Point Soft Tissue and Oral Cancer Exam
At every hygiene appointment, our team performs a 6-point soft tissue and oral cancer exam, checking the oral cavity as well as the extraoral areas under the chin and along the neck. It's a standard part of your visit, not something you have to request.
Technology in Service of Comfort
None of these tools replace time spent listening to your concerns. At Southwest Dental Group, technology is there to make that conversation clearer — helping you understand what we're seeing and why we're recommending a particular next step.
